into the mystic

i had to put my cat to sleep today. he was old, and he had hyperthyroid disorder. his metabolism was working overtime, and even with medication, his body ate up all his fat and muscle stores. he could barely walk he was so weak.

on the way to the vet, Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic" came on in the car. then, while i was waiting in the consultation room with my cat, "Into the Mystic" came on over the speakers in the Petsmart in which my vet is located.

maybe someone was trying to tell me it was okay to let him go and say goodbye.

*curls up in a ball* i miss my kitty.

I'm so sorry. Tomorrow will be two weeks since I lost my sweet Takara(dog). If you haven't read The Rainbow Bridge you might want to check it out. It is a sweet poem.

I had to put my cat down just over a year ago, and I still miss him. It's not easy at all, even when they're old and sick and you know it's a mercy.

I'm so sorry about your loss but I can't help agree with you that there might have been some sort of message through that song coming up twice. I'm sure your cat is in a much happier place now.

I feel for you sweetie. When you feel up to it, spend time out of the house with friends. The quiet will get to you if you are not careful.

*very empathetic hugs*

Wide awake and all joy.

Never a good time. Think of the joy and the relief that he is free of his pain.

I know we'll win the battles,
but I think we'll lose the war,
to the new American Way.

I work as an EVMT and trust me when I say that sometimes letting them go is the best thing that you can do for them. It doesn't hurt any less though.

We used to keep this book in our comfort room: [link]=pd_sim_b_1
